Aims and Scope of Adv Clin Exp Med

Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine (Adv Clin Exp Med) publishes high-quality original articles, research-in-progress papers, research letters, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses of recognized scientists that deal with all clinical and experimental medicine.

The journal is published monthly (12 issues per year) – each issue is released on the last day of the respective month. Most articles are published as ahead of print articles before the scheduled release date of the issue they are assigned to.

The journal Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine is owned, published and solely funded by Wroclaw Medical University, wybrzeże Ludwika Pasteura 1, 50-367 Wrocław, Poland (https://umw.edu.pl).

The journal has been indexed in several databases: Scopus, Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory, Index Copernicus and since 2007 in Thomson Reuters databases: Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition.

In 2009, the journal obtained Impact Factor, which is now 2.1 (for 2023). Articles published in the journal are worth 70 points among Polish journals according to the Polish Committee for Scientific Research and 171.00 points (for 2023) according to the Index Copernicus.

Since November 7, 2012, Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine has been indexed and included in the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE database. English abstracts printed in the journal are included and searchable using PubMed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed.

History of the journal

Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine has been published by the Wroclaw Medical University since 1992. The originator, organizer and first editor-in-chief of the journal (1992–1997) was Prof. Bogumił Halawa. The journal, then entitled Postępy Medycyny Klinicznej i Doświadczalnej, appeared quarterly. Prof. Leszek Paradowski was editor-in-chief from 1997–1999. In 1998, he initiated alterations in the profile and cover design of the journal which were accepted by the Editorial Board. The title was changed to Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Articles in English began to appear in the journal. A number of outstanding representatives of medical science from Poland and abroad were invited to participate in the newly established International Editorial Staff. Professor Antonina Harłozińska-Szmyrka was editor-in-chief in years 2000–2005, in years 2006–2007 once again Prof. Leszek Paradowski and Prof. Maria Podolak-Dawidziak was editor-in-chief in years 2008–2016. In years 2017–2020 the editor-in chief was Prof. Maciej Bagłaj and since 2020 Prof. Donata Kurpas.
